In December 2019, The CW aired three episodes of the five-part "Crisis on Infinite Earths", with several actors from various DC Comics movies and TV series appearing in cameo roles.  Among those who appeared as guest stars were Tom Welling and Erica Durance reprising their roles from the TV series "Smallville" as Clark Kent and Lois Lane-Kent, respectively.  Unfortunately, in "Crisis On Infinite Earths" Part Two, Tom Welling only appeared on screen for four minutes as Clark Kent and he only had thirty seconds of screen time with Lois Lane.  The episode revealed that Clark Kent gave up his powers and lives on the Kent Farm with his wife and daughters.  Fans have had mixed reactions to the reunion, with many fans loving that Lois and Clark had on-screen closure, many fans disappointed that Clark is powerless and all of his trials, life lessons and the sacrifices of his loved ones (including the lives of loved ones) from the ten seasons of "Smallville" were rendered meaningless, and those just happy to see that Erica Durance and Tom Welling had been reunited.

We, the fans, would like to see The CW do more with Erica Durance's Lois and Tom Welling's Clark.  Many fans want to see Tom Welling's Clark get his powers back and to finally don the Superman costume, while other fans simply want to see more of Lois and Clark and to see them with their daughters.  Actors from "Smallville" like Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum (who played Lex Luthor) have even said they would love to voice their roles for an animated mini-series that adapts the Season Eleven comic series of "Smallville".  Even though one of the writers for "Crisis On Infinite Earths", Marc Guggenheim, has confirmed in interviews that Earth-167 is one of the surviving Earths, we, the fans, would like to see the "Smallville" universe return and to have some kind of follow-up with the Earth-167 Lois and Clark.
