Why this petition matters

Started by Deann Resler

We the below signed homeowners of Timberline Reserve Subdivision in Calera, AL do hereby request a meeting with the developer of Timberline Reserve subdivision. We request as a group, or individual appointed to represent the group by said homeowners signing below, to be allowed to meet with the developer to discuss the landscaping rules that are now trying to be enforced as of September of 2022 (ie only pine straw or natural colored mulch allowed in landscaping.)

Per the covenants and restrictions provided to us revised and filed on 4/3/07  titled "The Reserve at Timberline Architectural Guidelines and Requirements" in section 13 entitled "Landscaping" it states that "other exposed areas must be seeded or mulched (or better) for erosion protection." This is in conflict to  the same revision in section "General Guidlines" dated 4/3/07 section 15 titled "Mulch" where it says "no colored mulch or gravel is allowed."

Studies show that mulch and pine straw in landscaping can become an insulator and ideal habitat  for snakes, roaches, other insects, and mice to live and breed.

Studies also show that rock is better for drainage near home foundations.

We as the signed below homeowners are requesting that we, or a delegate who is a chosen homeowner by the undersigned, get an opportunity to speak with the current Timberline Reserve Developer to discuss this ruling ourselves, either with or without an HOA Management (Rely Management) representative.

All property owners want our homes and neighborhood to look as nice as possible, which increases our home values as well as new construction values.

We the undersigned are requesting our chance to be able to speak and have this rule reconsidered, as many homes in our neighborhood have had decorative gravel for years now with no complaints or issues.

Thank You.
