This petition is to shed light on the ongoing speeding problem we have in Timber Ridge. There are 2 streets used by Cooper ISD traffic (mainly high school kids) 7570/7560 and 7540. They use our neighborhood as a short cut to avoid 2 stop signs that get backed up during school drop off and pick up times. We have kids getting off of busses, anls we'll as kids that actually like to be outside, all while the speeders are doing 60, 70... sometimes 80mph through our neighborhood. Our RESIDENTIAL STREETS have been used as drag strips on multiple occasions to the point 1 juvenile will get out and actually flag the race. The LCISD police can actually verify this. Our streets are NOT safe, and the neighborhood as a whole, sadly, has an understanding that you do not go outside during these times. Timber Ridge neighborhood is using this petition to get the county to PLEASE install speed bumps/humps to slow the traffic down. We are not asking for bumps you almost to come to a stop for, but merely slow down. A perfect example of what we are looking for can be seen on the streets of the Bella Mia neighborhood just north of United supermarkets at 1585 and Indiana. This is not a new problem, it has been going on for almost 10 years or more. We, as a neighborhood, are begging you to help with this problem before someone is hurt or worse.
