Deanna Borske started this petition to Governor Tim Walz and

No juvenile record no adult record and jointly tried with a juvenile given life without the possibility of parole for the first time ever getting in trouble. my name is Cornelius Jackson in 2006 I was found guilty of aiding and abbeting in the first degree murder ,I was also jointly tried with some one who the united states supreme court has determined that since he was 17 at the time of the offense he can't be sentence to life without the possibility of parole so he now has life with the possibility of parole. I'm happy for him but my question is how can the state join us for trial offer a plea deal that could only be accepted if both of us agreed to accept i was willing to take the plea but could not because codefendant was told he could not receive lwop if he went to trial an lost and not come to the conclusion that the state was also wrong for having a adult and a juvenile joined at trial.Had I been able to take the plea I would be going home an 2 years, yes the state went from offering me 25 years to forcing to trial an giving me 99 years left to die in prison. The same science United State Supreme Court use to determined juveniles are different from their adult counter parts does not say the human brain has fully develop when your 18 it actually says the part of the human brain that helps us with decision making and with risk taking is fully developed between ages 21-25 I was 19 still living with my mom and 2 younger brothers. In the state of Minnesota a person who is 18-19 can still be sent to a juvenile facility for a felony.

I'm no saint but what I am saying is no one on God's green earth deserves to die in a prison cell for there first time ever getting in trouble as a adult or juvenile, everyone deserves a second chance and I'm asking for mine that's why I am seeking a commutation of my sentence.
I am now 34 I have grown and learned a Lt in the 15 years I have been locked up I'm not saying I deserve to get out of prison tomorrow or even next year but. do believe I am redeemable I have a lot of good people in my life and I am constantly bettering myself and I believe I don't deserve to die in a cell.
