Tim’s Law: Drink, Drug and Dangerous Driving Reforms

We have now surpassed 210,000 signatures, and the petition continues to grow every day.

I want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported this campaign, shared it, and taken the time to sign. The level of public support has been overwhelming and shows just how many people believe urgent reform is needed.

This campaign was created following the devastating and preventable death of my brother, Tim Burgess, who was killed by a repeat dangerous driver under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

Since launching, we have continued to highlight serious gaps in current law and enforcement — particularly around:

delays in toxicology results

the gap between arrest and prosecution

and repeat dangerous drivers remaining on the road

The petition is now also progressing in Parliament, with MP Peter Dowd taking steps to have it formally tabled.

This is a clear sign that the strength of public support is being recognised at a political level.

I will continue pushing for urgent reforms to ensure that no other family has to go through what ours has.

If you haven’t yet signed or shared the petition, please do. Every single signature and share helps keep this momentum going and strengthens the call for change.

Thank you again for your support.

Linzi and family
