The Issue
These are extremely uncertain and scary times for those who work in the Hospitality industry.
People have been getting laid off with no warning, leaving them stranded with no income. The governments policy of paying people 80% of their wages has already helped a great deal of us.
Companies much smaller than Wetherspoons have been using this to help protect their staff immediately. The fact that Tim Martin is telling his employees they need to wait until the grant comes in to the company to get paid is absolutely disgusting.
We demand that all Wetherspoons employees get the compensation they deserve immediately. A wage that is not reflective of the hours promised on contracts but the average amount of hours they were actually working in the months before the coronavirus crisis hit.
We vow, that once pubs re-open, we will not return to Wetherspoons until this injustice is put right.
