The new Atlantic Pipeline will promote the natural gas industry in Virginia, opening the door for the use of hydraulic fracturing "fracking" technology to extract shale gas. Fracking causes irreparable pollution and damage to water quality, wasting and destroying aquifers and groundwater that can never be reclaimed. The pipeline will run through natural areas and homes, polluting or destroying hundreds of creeks, woods, and streams. Virginia's clean waters are one of its most valuable resources-- stop the Atlantic Pipeline and say "No" to fracking in and around Virginia.
