Stand with Bob Ream!
The Issue
Bob Ream has dedicated his life to our state and the people of Montana. He is a retired wildlife-biology professor and former state representative from Missoula. It's time we stand with Bob and all the other patients facing the grim reality of losing access to their medicine at the end of August because of SB 423.
Tim Fox, the Attorney General for the State of Montana, needs to support the delay of the implementation of SB 423. Montanans will be voting on I-182, the initiative to formalize medical marijuana, in November but patients will lose access to medical marijuana starting August 31 when SB 423 goes into effect.
Bob Ream wrote a letter last week to Tim Fox describing his recent diagnosis of pancreatic cancer, his difficulty sleeping, and urged him to halt the implementation of SB 423. Ream said that he has “never been a pot-smoker,” but that medical marijuana is the only thing that has helped him get some sleep – and that “it is not possible to fight cancer and endure chemotherapy without sleep.”
Over 42,000 Montanans signed the I-182 petition to get it on the ballot this November and formalize the medical marijuana program in the state of Montana. Montanans want an accountable and responsible medical marijuana program. Every Montanan knows someone fighting cancer and someone suffering from chronic pain or a debilitating illness.
With your signature, let's show Tim Fox that the compassionate thing to do is allow patients to continue to access the medicine they need. With your signature, let's show Tim Fox that the sensible thing to do is to let Montanans vote 'yes on 182' in November before taking any further action.
