Delegate Brian Kurcaba (R-Monongalia) recently said, “Obviously rape is awful. What is beautiful is the child that could come from this.” These remarks were recorded during a committee hearing for a bill that does not exempt women seeking abortion due to sexual assault.

Obviously, Delegate Kurcaba has no idea just how awful it would be for a woman to carry a child that is a result of rape. Kurcaba's insensitivity to the horrific and brutal crime of rape has led to the West Virginia Federation of Democratic Women calling for him to resign as Delegate from the 51st District.

Clearly Delegate Kurcaba does not represent West Virginia women and does not understand the mental anguish a woman goes through when sexually assaulted.

Since Delegate Kurcaba chooses not to represent a huge portion of his constituents, we are asking for his immediate resignation. Please sign our petition, and leave a message letting him know how you feel.
