It is a continuous trend that TikTok does not hold users accountable for the antisemitic comments, videos and messages that they post. TikTok must rebuke this atrocious behavior, and make an effort to protect the Jewish community online, as well as protecting other minorities that are affected by hate speech.

Everyday, Jewish creators and Jewish allies, come across videos with explicitly hateful content (i.e. videos that idolize Hitler, that use Holocaust jokes or idolize the Holocaust, that promote antisemitic tropes such as Jewish global domination; i.e. threatening antisemitic comments and death threats that praise the Holocaust, that support Jewish persecution, that spread antisemitic rhetoric, that dehumanize Jewish people).

Oftentimes, these types of videos are blown up by TikTok's algorithm, meanwhile Jewish creators/allies who denounce this pure antisemitic rhetoric OFTENTIMES have THEIR VIDEOS removed for "Violating Community Guidelines." (In other words, a popular video praising the Holocaust would stay up, whereas another user's duet with that video, for the purpose of calling out the original poster, would be removed. In another example, using the "Reply to Comment" feature on TikTok to create a video addressing an antisemitic comment would oftentimes get taken down, whereas the original comment would stay)

Everyday, Jewish creators and users are being antagonized on this platform. Many have been personally threatened, have had their information leaked, and face an astronomical amount of hateful comments. This is not only a threat to their mental well-being, but it is a threat to their physical safety.

When these types of videos, comments, etc. get reported, TikTok VERY rarely takes accountability. Even videos as explicitly racist as an animation of Hitler dancing in front of a Nazi Swastika, or videos that pick fun of the deaths of Holocaust victims, despite mass reporting, were never removed.

Instead, it seems obvious that TikTok values the antisemitic rhetoric that is posted on the app and prefers to push it forward. While, at the very same time, they are censoring and blocking out Jewish creators and allies who want to call attention to it. 

For an app that is geared towards impressionable teens and children, the way that the "reporting" process works is an absolute atrocity. More and more people are exposed to antisemitic or racist rhetoric everyday: the consequences of this means that it will either normalize it and motivate them to engage with it, or it will scare, put at risk and deeply harm the Jewish community. This is NO way to run a social media application marketed to children, teens and younger adults.

THE STAFF OF TIKTOK MUST BE MORE ACCESSIBLE, APPROPRIATE, FAST-ACTING AND COMPLIANT WITH LISTENING TO THE CONCERNS OF TIKTOK USERS AROUND THE WORLD. JEWISH CREATORS, JEWISH ALLIES, AND OTHER MINORITY GROUPS ARE TIRED OF BEING TANTALIZED, OF FEARING FOR THEIR SAFETY, OF STRUGGLING TO GAIN INFLUENCE ON THE APPLICATION DUE TO JEWISH CENSORSHIP, AND OF TIKTOK ITSELF NOT HOLDING ANTISEMITIC USERS ACCOUNTABLE BY REMOVING THEIR VIDEOS, MESSAGES AND COMMENTS OR BY NOT BANNING THEM FROM THE PLATFORM.
