In 2020, two Tik Tok creators with major platforms have been accused and have owned up to “grooming” or being “involved” with minors. Their names are Tony Lopez and Zoe Laverne. Below I will describe these situations. 

To begin, Tony Lopez(a 21 year old adult) has been accused by several underage girls of him requesting photos from them and essentially trying to have innapropriate relations that can be defined as pedophelia. He has partially adressed this issue by saying that he is not proud of his past actions, but has yet to adress any individual claims. 

Zoe Laverne, a 19 year old adult, has made many mistakes as an influencer in the past, but her most recent was when a video of her kissing a 13 year old boy named Connor was leaked. She was not planning on owning up to this until she was exposed, and then went on to make videos victimizing herself and has claimed she isn’t a pedophile. She has said it stopped because they both knew it was wrong, yet she makes jokes out of it in videos on her platform. 

I don’t believe that either of these people should have platforms on an app where their fan bases are young and impressionable children. It is not safe, and they are not good role models.
