Official Platinum is a program set up to “help the fans” get tickets by fluctuating ticket pricing based on demand. A ticket at face value can be $79, and official platinum can raise that price by HUNDREDS of dollars “based on demand.” So basically, if fans want to see a concert that other fans also want to see, only some of them will be paying the actual price of the ticket, while hundreds of others could be forced to pay multiple times the value of the ticket, or not go to the event. 
For example; Greta Van Fleet’s first presale happened on November 10th, with GA pit tickets (Atlantic City venue) costing $99 and seats costing $79. By 6 pm, for presale, the $79 seats were now $425 as official platinum before fees. By noon on November 11th, the same exact section and row presale seats were listed at $525. Let me remind you, this is only presale, tickets have not even been fully released to the public. I used Greta Van Fleet as an example because they are not as well known as other artists like Harry Styles or Taylor Swift, but it still happens. This does not help the fans at all. This feature has made it nearly impossible for fans who are not as wealthy as others to see their favorite musicians perform.
