Replace Thunder TV announcers

The Issue

The Oklahoma City Thunder are possibly the best thing to happen to Oklahoma in state history. The OKC Thunder are now a rallying point for all Oklahomans, bringing national and global attention to Oklahoma City, and to the entire state of Oklahoma.

However, there are two glaring problems with the team and organization; Brian Davis and Michael Cage. As an avid fan of the NBA who has owned NBA League Pass (a service allowing you to watch every NBA game) I can safely say these two TV announcers are amongst the worst in the NBA. Their constant broadcasting errors, ridiculous Thunder bias, inability to accurately assess in game events, and general uninformed opinions make it nearly impossible to enjoy watching games on Fox Sports Oklahoma. Add in the occasional horrible dad joke, and viewers are in for the worst two and a half hours of audio on television. I find myself now muting games that are not on a national television networks, and instead listening to the radio broadcast.

Their worst attribute might be their inability to say anything negative about the Thunder. This is most commonly seen with foul calls. Anytime the Thunder commit a foul, regardless of how obvious it may be, Michael Cage will almost always say , "I didn't see a lot of contact there." However, anytime the Thunder may have even been minorly fouled (or sometimes not even fouled at all) Michael Cage will almost always say, "There was a lot of contact there, but no foul call by the official!" I understand their love for the Thunder, and that they are employees of the Thunder organization. However, their bias far exceeds that of almost all other NBA team's TV announcers.

The list of people capable of doing a better job is seemingly endless. I would devote all my time and effort to have an acquaintance of mine, Duncan, become the new TV announcer if it meant him replacing Brian Davis and Michael Cage. Duncan's last time playing competitive basketball was on a JV squad in middle school. Despite this, the level of insight from his limited knowledge of the sport of basketball would prove to far exceed that of the current two TV announcers. Whatever commentary Duncan (or anyone else for that matter) could summise during a 48 minute NBA game would be much welcomed as opposed to that offered by Mr. Davis and Mr. Cage.

I hope all reasonable Thunder and NBA fans will sign this petition.

Please help me improve the Thunder viewing experience.
