STOP development of Green Belt & Conservation Areas in Croxley Green.

STOP development of Green Belt & Conservation Areas in Croxley Green.
The Issue
Croxley Green has historically been named as one of the best place in the country to raise a family. Its green spaces and areas are appreciated and loved by its residents who are slowly seeing their demise as more and more land is used up for developments.
Some of this site is in Green Belt and, as it currently stands as open countryside, the land;
- has a positive impact in restricting the sprawl of the current village by virtue of it delimiting the village,
- has a positive effect in preventing neighbouring towns merging as the nearest major town / village is less than 1km away, and
- contributes to safeguarding the countryside by forming a barrier to encroachment into the Green Belt.
As a single track road with limited passing places, the access road struggles to cope with existing traffic levels. Adding additional traffic to these roads has the potential to
result in gridlock and will result in a lot of distress to the local residents. Residents are also worried about destruction of the Green and Little Green Lane.
We call upon Three Rivers District Council and Parliament to fully support measures to stop development on this land some of which is green belt and a conservation site. Focus should be on Brown field sites instead despite developers not favouring these. Residents and their wellbeing should come first. We ask that you halt the coalescence of Croxley Green into neighbouring towns thus permanently losing its character.
