Many overdose victims are being treated successfully with doses of Narcan and taken to the closest hospital for treatment or precaution. Most of them end up leaving the hospital and police presence without any further counseling. I feel the need to have an on-call drug and mental health counselor speak to and persuade that person to the best of their ability to go into inpatient treatment immediately. If after the third time the patient is brought back by Narcan and still refuses treatment, it should be mandated for at least 30 days.
