Thomas Tuchel was brought in to solve England's biggest problem: turning a golden generation of talent into a team that could go all the way. In the game against Argentina, with a place in the World Cup final at stake, his own decisions threw it away.

England led 1-0 in the second half. Rather than try and build on the lead, Tuchel capitulated and bottled it. He made changes that handed the initiative straight back to Argentina. A semi-final England were winning became a semi-final England lost, because of the manager's choices.

He is one of the highest-paid coaches in FA history. The FA made this big investment expecting him to make the right calls when it mattered most. In that one half, he didn't. Supporters, former players and this squad deserve a manager who backs them to be brave, not one who panics with the finish line in sight.

We, the undersigned, call on the Football Association to remove Thomas Tuchel as England men's head coach and appoint a manager capable of taking this squad further, ahead of Euro 2028.
