This petition is to show the support of Thomas County for second amendment sanctuary status. 

   Georgia is a pro 2A state but we are trying to be proactive vs reactive to any gun control laws that may be voted on in Georgia. An example would be Georgia SB281 that has been pre-filed. This bill would ban a list of semi-automatic firearms and limit the amount of ammunition a firearm can hold. The sanctuary status will make a statement against any unconstitutional gun law introduced into the state. We ask for the support to stand with our fellow Georgia counties that have already passed the second amendment sanctuary resolution. The resolution basically states that the county will not use any personal, funding, or property to enforce unconstitutional gun laws. Help us send a message that our god give rights are not to be taken so easily.
