“We the People” and gun owners in America want our voices heard before congress. Although mass shootings are very tragic, we ask congress to not ignore thousands of “responsible” gun owners across this nation. By removing and/or restricting the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution one does not make America safer, according to research and statistics, but weakens our ability to protect ourselves, our families, and our homes while making us more vulnerable to gun violence.
While our hearts goes out to the victims of gun violence removing ones’ right to protect themselves, their families, and their homes is not the answer according to current research and statistics that clearly shows that guns deter crimes. These Red Flag laws violate the Constitution by taking away “Due Process” and confiscation of proper from innocent people – guilty till proven innocent. Additionally, they strip law abiding citizens of our constitutional freedoms and make us more vulnerable while they do not provide any help to those committing these crimes that are suffering from mental illness. Therefore, we urge congress to vote down Red Flag Laws that violate the constitution of its citizens.
