The Issue

To: The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, United States Congress, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)

This is not a feel-good environmental cause. This is a matter of human survival.

Butterflies and bumblebees are dying — and if we do not act NOW, the consequences will be irreversible, catastrophic, and felt by every single person on this planet.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🔴 THE CRISIS IS REAL — AND IT'S HAPPENING RIGHT NOW
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Over 28% of North America's bumblebee species are now at risk of extinction. Monarch butterfly populations have crashed by more than 80% in recent decades. These are not statistics to be filed away — they are alarms screaming that our ecosystems are collapsing.

Pollinators like butterflies and bumblebees are responsible for fertilizing over 75% of the world's flowering plants and nearly 35% of the global food supply. Every apple, almond, blueberry, and cucumber on your table exists because a pollinator made it possible.

Without them, we do not just lose pretty insects. We lose our food. We lose our ecosystems. We lose our ability to survive on this planet.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
💰 THE ECONOMIC STAKES ARE STAGGERING
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Pollinators contribute an estimated $577 billion annually to the global food supply. In the United States alone, they support over $15 billion worth of crops every single year. Farmers depend on them. The food industry depends on them. Every American family's grocery bill depends on them.

Allowing pollinators to go extinct is not just an environmental failure — it is an economic catastrophe in slow motion. The cost of inaction will dwarf any investment in protection.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
💔 THIS IS PERSONAL — AND IT SHOULD BE
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Think about the last time you saw a butterfly in your yard. Think about the wildflowers that used to be everywhere. Think about what kind of world we are leaving for our children and grandchildren — a world stripped of color, of life, of sustenance.

This is happening on our watch. And our federal agencies have the power to stop it — if they choose to act.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
✊ WE DEMAND IMMEDIATE ACTION
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

We, the undersigned, call on the EPA, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, Congress, and the USDA to:

1. IMMEDIATELY ban neonicotinoid pesticides and other chemicals proven to kill pollinators — no more delays, no more industry lobbying excuses.

2. LIST endangered bumblebee and butterfly species under the Endangered Species Act and enforce those protections with full force.

3. FUND a National Pollinator Recovery Program with dedicated, long-term federal funding — not scraps, real investment.

4. MANDATE pollinator-safe agricultural practices and reward farmers who protect and restore habitats with meaningful subsidies.

5. RESTORE natural habitats — meadows, wildflower corridors, wetlands — on federal lands and incentivize states to do the same.

6. ESTABLISH measurable, time-bound goals for pollinator population recovery and report publicly on progress every year.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
⏳ THERE IS NO MORE TIME TO WAIT
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Scientists have warned us. The data has warned us. Nature itself is warning us. The only thing missing is the political will to act.

Sign this petition. Share it with everyone you know. Flood the inboxes of your representatives. Make so much noise that our government cannot look away.

Because when the pollinators are gone — they are gone forever. And so is the world as we know it.
