Three major clubs catering to the LGBTQ community, Los Globos, El Cid, and Catch One, are owned by a far right vocal Trump supporter named Steve Edelson. Promoter Xian Vox recently revealed a series of overtly racist and sexist memes posted by Edelson and announced her intention to boycott Edelson's clubs.

On October 26th,  This Free Life and Good Boy Party Line are hosting an LGBTQIA youth focused event called Unicorns vs Aliens at the Catch One. We are calling on This Free Life and Good Boy Party Line, and promoter Morgan Hildebrand who is employed by both, to cancel or move this event!

The organizers of Unicorns vs Aliens have actively attempted to suppress and censor information about the issues with Edelson and the Catch One. What is most concerning is that while they claim to be doing this event "for the youth", they are depriving LGBTQ youth of the ability to make informed decisions, and potentially putting them in an unsafe situation. One can only imagine potential consequences for undocumented LGBTQ youth in this space. Even worse, The Catch One shares same name and location as Jewel's Catch One, the historic club for the Black LGBTQ community owned by Jewel Thais-Williams, and many may not realize it is owned and operated by Edelson, not Jewel.

While Unicorns vs Aliens is an immediate target, this is the first of many boycotts. We call on all who stand against the Trump regime to boycott all events at El Cid, Los Globos, and the Catch One until Steve Edelson renounces his past actions, and apologizes to LGBTQ people, transgender people, people of color, and women for his attacks, and commits to working across the board to combat the atrocities of the Trump regime. We will not allow those who make money off our communities to simultaneously abuse our communities. We will announce further specific targets in the upcoming weeks.
