How much of it is being used to build artificial intelligence — without you knowing?

 

AI companies are racing to build the most powerful systems in the world. And to do it, they need enormous amounts of data.

 

But there is a problem:

 

The people who created that data are often the last people asked for permission.

 

We are not anti-AI.

 

We are not asking companies to stop innovating.

 

We are asking for something basic:

 

ASK US FIRST.

 

If a company wants to use our personal information to train AI, people should have meaningful control over that decision.

CLEAR CONSENT

People should know when their personal information is being used for AI training and, where required, be asked for clear permission.

 

TRANSPARENCY

Companies should disclose what information they collect, where it comes from, and how it is used.

 

A REAL OPT-OUT

People should have a simple, accessible way to say: “Do not use my data to train AI.”

 

THE RIGHT TO DELETE

Where technically and legally possible, people should be able to request the removal of their personal information from systems used to develop AI.

 

PROTECTION FOR CREATORS

Artists, photographers, writers, musicians, actors, designers, and other creators deserve meaningful control and transparency regarding the use of their work.

 

THIS ISN’T ABOUT STOPPING AI.

 

AI can transform medicine, science, education, creativity, and countless other areas of our lives.

 

But innovation should not require people to surrender control over their personal information.

 

Our data has value.

 

And if companies can use it to build products worth billions of dollars, the people who generate that data deserve a voice in how it is used.

 

WE ARE NOT SAYING “STOP AI.”

 

WE ARE SAYING “ASK FIRST.”
