The detective has said he will be wrapping up his investigation and sending the case to the State’s Attorney. That step means the evidence is complete and ready for a charging decision. It reflects that probable cause has been established and that the record clearly supports the truth of what happened.

And it is not just one charge. The evidence supports seven separate violations of Maryland law:

Forgery – Criminal Law § 8‑601 The codicil contains a misspelled name, a false will date, and a signature that does not match Patricia’s verified 1998 signature.

Uttering a forged document – Criminal Law § 8‑602 The codicil was filed in probate as if it were genuine, despite these defects.

Perjury – Criminal Law § 9‑101 The List of Interested Persons and later filings swore to a false address for me under oath.

Obstruction of justice – Criminal Law § 9‑306 Certified probate notice was deliberately sent to the wrong household, returned “unclaimed,” and concealed during the contest period.

Theft by deception – Criminal Law § 8‑801 I was induced to sign Modified Administration while the codicil was concealed, depriving me of informed consent.

Exploitation of a vulnerable adult – Criminal Law § 3‑604 The codicil was obtained from Patricia while she was bedridden, sedated with morphine, Ativan, and Haldol, and nine days from death.

Altering a will or estate record – Criminal Law § 8‑701 The codicil unlawfully converted a restricted life estate into full ownership, defeating the remainder interest.

Each of these is proven by the estate filings, medical records, and my direct observation. Together, they form a pattern of fraud and concealment that robbed Patricia of her voice in her final days.

Your 550 signatures are not just encouragement. They are leverage. They show prosecutors that the community already understands this was exploitation and expects accountability. They make it harder for anyone to look away.

The next step belongs to the State’s Attorney. But Patricia’s truth is already in the record, and 550 of you are carrying it forward.
