To start, the codicil says it was signed on July 12, 2013. Patricia died nine days later.

She was discharged on June 20 under end-of-life care. Her diagnoses included hypoxia, anxiety, and COPD exacerbation. She was prescribed Ativan, Haldol, and morphine.

Hypoxia means the brain wasn’t getting enough oxygen. That directly affects memory, awareness, and decision-making.

Her daughter signed the hospice paperwork and approved the use of morphine. She was fully in control.

You can’t sign legal documents if you’re unable to sign off on your own medical decisions.

Three weeks later, while Patricia was sedated and dying, a new legal document appeared. One that removed me as a beneficiary of the condo and gave her daughter full ownership.

That’s not just unethical. That’s undue influence.
