A girl in my class was hit by a car while walking on the pavement, she died later that night. She was only thirteen years old. I did a lot of research into the incident and I found out that most drivers who cause fatal accidents only get a fine and a licence suspension. I want this to change. I think that drivers who cause fatal accidents should get their licences taken away permanently. This means that they will never drive again.

-Approximately 1.35 million people die in road crashes each year, on average 3,700 people lose their lives every day on the roads.

-More than half of all road traffic deaths occur among vulnerable road users—pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists.

-Road traffic injuries are the leading cause of death among young people aged 5-29. Young adults aged 15-44 account for more than half of all road deaths.

And the worst part about it all? Most of these drivers get to drive again after a short licence suspension and a fine. I think that this is ridiculous. They don't deserve to be trusted to drive. So please, sign our petition, help us get justice for our friend, and make sure that drivers who cause fatalities never drive again.
