Dear Supporters, Good news to kick off 2017. On New Year’s Day, my 77 year old dad (Grandpa) Kamal was taken to a Tehran hospital for his 3rd medical during his 2,070 day detention in Evin prison. Hopefully results will be made available soon. Iran has not yet given him his cataracts operations and it is not clear why. Of course the easiest thing for Iran to do is to free Dad. This Thursday 5th January is the 3 year anniversary since he was first eligible for early release. Dad could have been released any of the last 1,095 days under normal Iranian law. He has been impeccably behaved, so why hasn’t he been released? Only the Iranian authorities know, and they have never formally replied to over 50 legal applications for Dad’s release.
