We object to Nick Clegg being offered a Knighthood

We object to Nick Clegg being offered a Knighthood
The Issue
Nick Clegg as former Deputy Prime Minister did not keep his promise to university students with free tuition, his party was voted for and he entered into a coalition partly due to this failed promise to much of the electorate. He was not popular and continues not to be so in his efforts to thwart Brexit. He has written a book on how to stop Brexit. This is a blatant ignoring of the democratic process and he is not accepting the EU referendum. There are plenty of other people who should have been offered such an honour, but to bestow a Knighthood on Nick Clegg is an insult to university students and all those who have voted to leave the EU. We feel that he has not supported the Prime Minister or government in their negotiations, he has gone against the said people and visited Brussels as an ardent Remainer. He is not popular and for these reasons, it in an insult to many of the electorate and those who value democracy that Mr. Clegg be knighted. It makes a fallacy of such an honour. It is also an insult when Mr. Nigel Farage, who campaigned for Brexit is not even put forward for this honour. It also insults those people who have worked hard in the name of this country. We the undersigned object to this.
