Stop the badger cull in the United Kingdom
This petition had 31,080 supporters
The government has licensed the culling of badgers in many areas of England to try and limit the spread of Bovine Tuberculosis and culling has recently been licensed in Cheshire. The cull is expensive, ineffective and is a waste of life and because badgers take 9 months to give birth the females are pregnant for most of the year so not only adult badgers will be affected by the cull but also unborn badgers will be killed. Many other methods of Bovine TB control can and have worked in Wales where, during the last four years, wider and more effective applications of annual cattle testing, improved cattle movement controls and improvements in farm biosecurity have recently seen real reductions in the disease in cattle. Please sign this petition to try and end this needless slaughter.
