Former Sun newspaper columnist Toby Young has been appointed to the board of the new universities regulator by Theresa May.

Shockingly, Young has been given this position despite once referring to children with learning difficulties as "illiterate troglodytes"and complaining that schools having to give access to children in wheelchairs is an example of "ghastly" political correctness.

Young also once referred to state school undergraduates at Oxford and Cambridge as "stains".

Young is entirely unqualified for this position and was appointed because of his public support in the press for Theresa May's administration. 

To show the government is not entirely out-of-touch with public opinion, we demand Toby Young is sacked immediately from this post and someone much more appropriate given the position instead.
