Protect Free School Meals - hungry children do not learn

The Issue

In the Tory General Election manifesto in 2017, Theresa May threatened to scrap Universal Free School Meals (UIFSM) in Infant Schools. This would have taken free school meals away from millions of children in primary schools. Due to public pressure (including petitions like this one) the government stepped back from doing this, however, the introduction of Universal Credit means that a million children living in poverty who are eligible for free school meals still are at risk of losing their right to a hot meal at lunchtime.

Hungry children do not learn. Sign this petition to demand that the government does not take away any free school meals' provision in our schools.
