Law change for Cats

It is a sad reality, but cats are frequently involved in road accidents. Seeing someone’s pet harmed by the roadside is devastating. Cats are hit and killed everyday in car accidents. It is the law to stop and report and accident with a dog. Cats are no different from dogs they are still a domestic pet. With thousands of children across the country who love them dearly. A driver should stop for hitting any animal and cats should be included in the law too. Therefore I have created this petition as I had my cat killed yesterday in a hit and run incident and I am campaigning for a change in the law to make it compulsory to report RTA's involving cats not just dogs and cattle etc.
If you hit an animal which is covered by The Road Traffic Act 1988 – namely, dogs, goats, horses, cattle, donkeys, mules, sheep and pigs you are legally required to report it to the police. The driver of a car involved in a collision with a dog is obliged to stop and stay on the scene until the police have given the driver permission to leave (which usually only happens after they have attended the scene), and the police must be informed of such an incident.
I WOULD LIKE CATS TO BE INCLUDED IN THIS LAW TOO! PLEASE HELP ME ACHIEVE MY GOAL
