Hello all 243,051 of you !!

I am so excited to email you to let you know about a BIG new development in our fight against period poverty.

On Tuesday, we launched a legal campaign to end period poverty. In partnership with the Red Box Project, and with the support of the Pink Protest, we are working with the Human Rights Team at London law firm Hausfeld & Co. to ensure the government provides special funding so all schools and colleges can provide menstrual products for anyone who needs them.

We launched a CrowdJustice page to support us with funding, which we need to further develop our legal case. No one should have to miss school because they cannot afford pads and tampons - and we are determined to make sure the government takes action.

Scotland has done just this, and made history, by being the first country in the world to provide period products in all schools, colleges and universities. The Welsh government has also pledged £1m to address period poverty.

Access to education is a fundamental human right, and period poverty should never stand in the way of that.

Here’s what you can do to help:

1)   DONATE to our CrowdJustice page, then share the page.
2)   SHARE our film, made by Emmy-award winning filmmaker, Lina Plioplyte, featuring ten schoolgirls from London (download here)
3)   SPREAD the word on social media to raise awareness. Use our posters, and here are some examples:

“#FreePeriods launches new legal campaign for equal access to education, because NO child should miss school because they have their period. Be a part of this change. Find out how to get involved’ https://www.crowdjustice.com/case/freeperiods"

“I am part of the #FreePeriods movement and I’m calling for an end to period poverty. We need free menstrual products in ALL schools. Help us fund our new legal campaign to make this happen. https://www.crowdjustice.com/case/freeperiods

4) Visit our website for more information.

Please also check out the amazing media coverage we’ve already generated – TIME, Telegraph, Metro (News), Guardian, Guardian Video, Independent, The Pool, Refinery 29, iNews, Marie Claire, Glamour, BBC World News, Metro (Opinion), Bustle, Teen Vogue … with more to come we hope!

Thank you so much for being part of the #FreePeriods movement. Watch this space for more ways to continue our fight against period poverty!
