Hello all 6,993 of you!   Something really exciting is happening. Period Poverty is starting to be discussed where it matters. The shock of hearing that girls are missing school because they can’t afford to have a period, is making way for a real desire for change. Your letters, tweets and activism in campaigning for #FreePeriods led The Green Party and Women’s Equality Party into joining the Liberal Democrats in their pledge to end Period Poverty once and for all. This is an incredible milestone, and I believe this is just the beginning. Cherie Blair has written to us to say how important our campaign is, and The Mayor of London has got in touch to express his support, too. Various publications are discussing our campaign (most recently this one: goo.gl/NIzbme). Today is Menstrual Hygiene Day. Let’s mark this day by tweeting “#FreePeriods”, writing to your MPs and keeping the discussion going so that the next government (whoever they may be) cannot ignore the plights of young girls who can’t afford sanitary products.
