I have noticed a large increase in homelessness locally. I believe there are a number of factors, causing this. However after speaking with local charities one of the main reasons is the lack of resources. Property prices continue to rise as the government slash benefits. More and more people are being put out on the streets. The lack of housing available to the vulnerable is almost non existent. Mental health conditions are on the rise as more and more people suffer. This is an incredibly serious matter, as more people lose they're lives. After speaking with porchlight and a number of charities, i find them in agreement that this situation is only getting worse and action must be taken.
