We have hit 4000 signatures, with just a week to go until submissions to the TGA close, we are nearing the finishing line in how we can directly influence the TGA's decision-making. We must make it clear that we will not accept a lesser scheduling of amyl/poppers as an appeasement after the shock of the potential for a Schedule 9 listing. The TGA have aimed high, and may decide on a lesser listing, however any listing that will result in the banning of amyl/poppers will be ineffective, dangerous to public health, and will still be discriminatory.

Any ban is out of the question - regulation, access, and education is key. The use of amyl/poppers as a sexual aid is a therapeutic benefit - consenting, informed adults that require poppers to enjoy comfortable sex must be allowed to access it.

Please remember to join us for a Poppers Protest at Taylor Square, Darlinghurst, on Wednesday the 10th of October at 5:30pm. We will have speakers to discuss the issues surrounding poppers and any potential ban and we want to hear from you. Most importantly, we need to show the nanny state that enough is enough - we won't accept this overreach into our lives. Media coverage.

"...we’ll simply stock up while it’s still legal, and carry the risk of committing a criminal offence for sexual expression. It’s a worrying reality to tie the two together: it’s uncertain if the TGA has made the connection."
Junkee spoke to Sydney GP and gay men’s health worker Dr. Brad MacKay about the potential ban on poppers. Dr. MacKay expresses concerns about the effectiveness of a ban, saying it's "incredibly unlikely the LGBTIQ community will stop using poppers... after relying on them for 50+ years."

Thank you to other media outlets that have discussed the issue, we encourage you to come along to the protest at Taylor Square, Darlinghurst on Wednesday the 10th at 5:30pm to cover the issue.
