With the Festive Season fast approaching I have an important request for you. If you really want to help the northern sled dogs – remember them. Remember Boppy the Sled Dog who died in agony during last year’s cruel Yukon Quest 1,000-mile race when he choked to death on his own vomit in 52 below. Remember the many sled dogs who are forced to spend their lives tethered on a 4-foot chain 24-7. Remember the defenseless dogs who sit in the dark in sub-zero temperatures with only a frozen water dish for company.
Remember the dogs who are forced to run hundreds of miles over sharp ice with no foot protection because their booties flip off during the race. Remember the male dogs who suffer frostbite to their unprotected genitals. Remember the ever-climbing death toll of the hundreds of dogs who have died both during and after 1,000-mile sled dog races and the countless dogs who are culled after the race. Remember that many deaths go unreported.
The Next Race is Fast Approaching on February 2, 2019! This deadly event generally claims the life of at least one dog per race. How many dogs will die this year? The only way to make this race safe for the dogs is to exclude them from this event.

The combined number of supporters is now at 38,477 signatures representing 146 countries on all 7 continents around the world. That number now rivals the entire population of the Yukon! Let’s shoot that number up to 50,000 and let the Yukon Government know we are not going away! This barbaric event must end!
