The World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) General Assembly voted to let UAE host WFD congress and WFDYS Camp in 2027. Persons who identify as a LGBTQIA+ person can't attend this congress and camp. They have the risk to be denied access to UAE, arrested or persecuted. 

The UAE does not only discriminate LGBTQIA+ people, but also women, Black, Indigenous People of Color and other minorities. 

This is in opposition with the values of the WFD organization. WFD has stated "EQUALITY: We are committed to promoting equality in our work. All individuals are to be treated similarly regardless of their religion, race, gender, sexual orientation, language, culture or age." This is where WFD has failed.

WFD should have checked the applicant countries on their human rights position before the vote of GA.

With this petition we ask the WFD Board to take their responsibility to ensure a WFD Congress and WFDYS Camp in a country where everyone is welcome to attend, be themselves and speak out their human right issues.
