Eliminate the use of leg hold traps in AB 502, which legalizes a Wolf Hunt.

The Issue

Wolves have been removed from the endangered species list, and this has spawned the Wisconsin Legislature to enact a wolf Hunt bill that allows the use of leg hold traps, the use of which is cruel and inhumane. Any animal caught in such a trap spends hours or days in agony, sometimes even chewing off its own leg to try to get loose. If wolves need to be killed, it should be done in a quick, effective way, and this eliminates trapping. The Assembly Bill allows wolves to killed by use of guns, bows, crossbows. It also allows the use of dogs, bait and electronic calls. Furthermore, dogs or even children, innocently walking in the woods, could be caught in these traps. The use of traps should be removed from any Wolf Hunt Bill.
