Despite the undeniable facts - backed by hard evidence and statistics - thousands of puppies are continuing to being born and bred indiscriminately in Wales.

These puppies are flooding a market that cannot sustain them in terms of providing homes for life.

As a result we, the rescues of the United Kingdom are no longer able to accommodate excessive numbers of unwanted dogs of all breeds and ages that are in desperate need of rehoming. These dogs are being overlooked

because people prefer the novelty of puppies. Unfortunately this novelty seems to wear off between the ages of 12 months and 2 years.

It is completely unacceptable that over 22,000 perfectly healthy and loving dogs are euthanized each year in our country simply because there aren’t enough homes for them.

Wales must shoulder the majority of blame for this continuing canine tragedy as more puppies continue to bred in Wales than anywhere else in the UK.

Urgent action is needed immediately
