OUR PLEA

We, the undersigned residents, parents, youth, community leaders, faith leaders, business owners, organizations, and concerned citizens, stand together to demand an end to gang violence and senseless violence in our neighborhoods.

We believe that every life has value.

We believe our neighborhoods deserve to be places where children can play safely, families can walk their streets without fear, businesses can thrive, and young people can grow up with hope and opportunity.

We are calling on individuals involved in gangs and street violence to put down the guns, end retaliation, stop the cycle of violence, and choose peace.

This initiative is not about attacking or demonizing anyone.

IT IS ABOUT SAVING LIVES.

We are calling for peace, violence prevention, mentorship, employment opportunities, conflict resolution, support for victims and families, and stronger cooperation throughout our communities.

OUR MESSAGE TO THE STREETS

THE WAR IS OVER.

There are no winners when another mother loses her child.

There are no winners when a young person loses his or her future.

There are no winners when families are forced to bury loved ones because of neighborhood conflicts.

WE ARE ASKING YOU TO CHOOSE LIFE.

Choose peace.
Choose your children.
Choose your family.
Choose your future.
Choose your community.

PUT THE GUNS DOWN. PUT THE RETALIATION DOWN. PUT THE VIOLENCE DOWN.LET THE NEXT GENERATION INHERIT PEACE — NOT THE STREETS.
