The Disney Movie Rewards program needs to give back the points they took from customers

The Issue

A great deal of Disney loyalists have had their Disney Movie Rewards erroneously removed from their accounts. Disney claims to have given notification regarding the policy change of points being deleted after inactivity for 210 days (inactivity means adding or removing points, not just logging in anymore), yet many Disney consumers received no such notification. Furthermore, with the new terms and conditions, Disney actually made these retroactive from the date of December 12, 2015. Most companies when they have policy changes make it effective moving forward, not retroactively applying something that is going to negatively affect their customers.  As buyers of Disney merchandise, we spend our hard earned money for overpriced Disney products such as DVD/Blu-Ray disks, music CDs, and theater tickets for Disney movies with the silver lining of the reward points and being able to get something back. But yet Disney has now taken away the points that many of their loyal fan base have been saving. The points cost the company very little compared to the amount they make based off the merchandise sales that people have to do to acquire most of these points, and many studies have shown that reward points help with customer retention. Why did Disney not give proper notification before removing the points? Proper notification does not mean update the terms and conditions on the website, but fail to send out an alert to your existing customers. Customer service is no help, many verging on being rude...too bad, so sad attitude. Members of the Disney Movie Rewards, sign the petition. Let Disney know we want our points back.
