SAVE THE POLYNESIAN RESORT @ WDW. Dumpsters sit where beautiful waterfalls & palm trees once were. Help us restore the huge waterfalls, tiki torches, and Tahitian feel of this beloved resort.
The Issue
Under the name of ‘refurbishment’ Walt Disney World is destroying unquestionably the most iconic, beautiful and beloved WDW resort – the Polynesian Resort in Orlando. Having visited the resort end of August what I witnessed firsthand is heartbreaking. DUMPSTERS where palm trees used to grow, water falls used to flow and beauty used to be abound. Before even reaching the pool area near the lake, the main entrance (Ceremonial House) was in shambles with the entire waterfall and beauty GONE! The beauty the Polynesian had for over 40 years is GONE. The pool, the volcano, tiki Gods along beautiful paths – all gone ! Now nothing but sand and debris. It's absolutely HEART BREAKING. What’s left of the resort are the rooms and the companies efforts to ‘improve’ the Polynesians common areas. Artist renderings show the plan for the new Ceremonial House theme with unattractive large balls in nets hanging from the ceiling and a tiny water structure like you would see in a mall or some other unimpressive location. The Disney board of executives clearly doesn’t have the love for the Polynesian as I know hundreds of thousands of people share with me. The plan is a MAJOR detraction from the resorts beauty. While there I heard numerous people say they would never EVER come back with what they have done and plan to replace it with. I’m giving this resort, which gave my family so much joy over the past 40 years a chance with this petition. Maybe our voice will be heard by Disney and the resort’s amazing beauty can be salvaged.
IT’S NOT TOO LATE. Disney is refurbishing and yes, what we loved was removed but Disney is still planning to rebuild. This petition is about WHAT is built now. Tell Disney you want the same tropical Tahitian feel with of huge water falls, huge tropical plants, amazing tiki torches and the like – just newer by signing this petition. The huge waterfall in the Ceremonial House, per the employees, was removed because it was hard to ‘fix’. Disney should replace it with an equally impressive new one, not get rid of or seriously down size this incredibly important element. The beautiful waterfalls out front are empty now. What will happen with those ? Walt wanted improvements but he knew some things are cherished and should remain true – forever. What is happening to this resort is NOT true to the Polynesian.
SAVE THE POLYNESIAN.
PLEASE - SEND YOUR MESSAGE TO DISNEY BY SIGNING THIS PETITION. RESTORE OUR BELOVED POLYNESIAN’S TROPICAL BEAUTY! UPDATE IT - YES. DESTROY IT AND IT’S PERFECT TROPICAL BEAUTY – NEVER!
