My family is one of many that have enjoyed the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights in the 20 years that it has been featured at Disney Hollywood Studios.  Countless families have made attending the lights a holiday tradition, and it has become a magical part of their Christmas and holiday celebrations. As of this morning, Walt Disney World has announced that this will be the last season for the Lights; citing new construction in themed lands.

This news brought my mother to tears, and she said that it was breaking her heart. She has been in ill health for sometime now.  She both treasures her memories of visits to the Lights, and has been hoping for her health to improve enough for another visit to see them.  With this recent announcement it looks as though that may never happen.  We live multiple states away, and traveling is difficult for her.

While the new growth is exciting, and many are looking forward to the new and expanded attractions, it would seem that a company as resourceful and dedicated to the magic of childhood could find some way to preserve an attraction that has been so special to so many.  To this end, I and the undersigned are asking Walt Disney World to relocate the Lights to another area in one of their parks if construction of the new attractions requires their removal from their current location.
