Remove profanity from The Incredibles 2 Movie script.
Remove profanity from The Incredibles 2 Movie script.
The Issue
Disney has the great reputation of providing entertaining movies that are family-centered, morally respective, and values-oriented.
I was excited to take my son, who is in elementary school, to see Disney Pixar’s Incredibles 2 Movie on it’s premiere night. The movie theatre was filled with elementary children.
As a father and also an educator, I was distraught by the use of profanity that was used by one of the characters in the movie.
Even though this was a PG movie, I wouldn’t expect this essentially child’s movie to contain such words (i.e- “Hell” and “damned”). Tonight Disney let me down and I believe this maybe true for other parents.
Such language shouldn’t be promoted by an entertainment company that targets our children. If we let this persist, then who is to say that it is wrong for children to use profanity in our schools? Every school districts’ student code of conduct would have to be revised. As parents let’s uphold the better standard and stand against the use of profanity in PG movies that are targeted at our children.
