Put Pixar's Newt back into production

Put Pixar's Newt back into production
Why this petition matters

Pixar cancelled Newt all the way back in 2011, when Rio came out. The plot was about the last male and female blue-footed newts, Newt and Brooke, going on a journey to save their species, but the problem is, they can't stand each other. When the idea and plot were first revealed, fans were excited for the movie, and there was even an Easter egg in Toy Story 3, and even an Easter egg in Brave after the film was already shelved.
Then, the movie got cancelled, and Blue Sky's Rio came out instead, making Newt Pixar's only cancelled movie ever. The two plots were just too similar, and Newt may have been seen as a rip-off if it came out second. Before the film was canned, the directoral roll for Newt was given to Pete Docter, who, while agreeing to do it, actually pitched another idea to Pixar which ended up being Inside Out. When Inside Out entered production, it put Newt off to the side, and it was (obviously) eventually cancelled.
Well, it's 2023 now, 12 years since Rio came out. Technically, since Disney bought Fox, and one of its division companies, Blue Sky Studios, Rio is now Disney property. However, Disney shut down Blue Sky, and Rio, in my opinion, will never have the same charm as a Pixar film. I believe Pixar should give their movie at least one more chance. The basic plot and concept was very interesting and fans were already excited when the film was announced. I don't care on how Newt would return, though. Whether it be a feature film, or just a Pixar short film, hell even a Disney+ Original series/movie, Me and I'm sure a couple of you just want to see what could have been all the way back in 2011.
