All my life, I’ve wanted to see representation for my physical deformity (I was born with an extra thumb) in the Disney princesses. While strides have been made to include princesses of diverse backgrounds and cultures, we are far away from the proper representation needed for everyone to feel seen in the world. One way to start this inclusion comes from the introduction of a princess who doesn’t look perfect. One who has been made fun of and laughed at. One who kids can look at and see themselves in, without feeling the need to be “perfect.” There is one person to start this change: Quasimodo.
