Look, I understand Star Wars Episodes 1, 2, and 3 weren't great.  Everyone gets it.  George Lucas, the creator of Star Wars, got excited about new technologies and briefly lost his mind.  That being said, he is still George Lucas.  He created an amazing universe that we all know and love.  It is ingrained in the fabric of our  society.  Here is the deal.  J.J. Abrams is a one trick pony.  He gets a project, does a dance, makes some money, and washes his hands.  He rehashes plots from older more revered films, takes credit for them, calls it "fan service' or "homage" and collects a pay check.  Here is what should happen.  Disney, should dump ole "one time thrill ride" and go get George Lucas back.  Let him write the script, let him fix this mess.  This time though, he won't be the only voice.  Disney should use the money they've been cash grabbing on some legit producers, screenwriters, and directors to channel George's brilliance.  This could work.  If we could, we'd let him delete Episode 7 and 8 and start again, but that's not realistic.  Giving him a meaningful hands on or directing role in Episode 9, though, might.
