Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Minnie Mouse, Chip n Dale, Pluto, Daisy Duck, Hewey, Dewey, and Louie. These are the names everyone is familiar with. Disney characters who have made us smile, laugh, and warm our hearts. And even though kids today have been familiar with them through merchandise and TV shows (including Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, the Mickey Mouse shorts, and the upcoming Mickey and The Roadster Racers) there is also another (and very important) way; the original shorts.

The classic Disney shorts from the 1920s to 1960s was when these characters were first introduced to the world and for years it has been a perfect way to introduce our young ones to them. That tradition has not change nor should it ever because in a world where there are other ways of introducing them, the shorts are very important one. Finding out where these characters came from and why they've been loved in the first place is a high importance whether you're little or discovering Disney for the first time. And it's not just children, adults too and even some have dedicated themselves to record Disney's entire history from books to documentaries, and some have even become some of the great Disney historians. Unfortunately, in a world where most Disney shorts DVDs are out of print and while some don't have internet access to stream yet have a DVD/Blu-ray player it's slim pickings for those who want to see those classic shorts again.

Well, that's about to change. It's time to bring back these shorts into our homes on DVD and Blu-ray. Approximately 494 shorts have been remastered in 4K and for those not to be seen by the public is a waste. What do we want? We want Disney to re-release all the classic shorts; every Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Pluto, Silly Symphony, and many others on DVD and for the first time on Blu-ray. In box sets, jam packed with extras including audio commentaries, documentaries, featurettes, galleries, and much more (including additional shorts from the 70's to present). People still buy DVD and Blu-ray and while it's not strong as it was then, it's still pretty strong. Plus, some people prefer physical format over streaming and some don't even have internet access. Even the Walt Disney Animation Studios Short Films Collection was #1 in sales when it was first released on Blu-ray/DVD combo pack and releasing the classic shorts have been highly requested over and over again, so clearly these IS a demand. Most of all, Disney Animation Studios and Mickey Mouse will be turning 95 and 90 respectively in 2018, so if there's any time to do this, now's the time.

So we ask Disney to please really consider this proposal and aim it for 2018 because the world needs Disney shorts to live on so current and future generations can enjoy them and show them to their kids. Everyone loves the classic Disney shorts and they love to have them on DVD and Blu-ray.
