Disney's Grand Floridian Resort is a beautiful Victorian-themed resort a mere boat or monorail ride away from the Magic Kingdom, Disney's premier theme park, known worldwide for the charm of Main Street USA and grandeur of Cinderella Castle.

As Disney's flagship resort, the Grand Floridian has long been an extension of this atmosphere. With homages to the whimsy of Alice in Wonderland and the fanciful fun of Mary Poppins, along with top-notch service, it is a reflection of the very finest Disney has to offer. A resort of such stature demands a premium pricetag.

A premium pricetag which many people are happy to pay for the incomparable experience of being able to stay at the famed Grand Floridian. Such a special resort also demands many special touches. One of those special touches is the classical music that comes from the Grand Floridian Society Orchestra, a mainstay of the resort lobby, as much of a tradition as the grand staircase or the open elevator.

Guests visit the Grand Floridian just to spend time in the lobby to soak in the ambiance, accompanied by the Disney tunes that they know and love. Some guests stay at the resort solely for the entertainment that can be found in the resort lobby. All guests who stay at the Grand Floridian do so with the expectation that they are receiving those extra special touches, those extra special magical experiences that make staying there worth it.

Now, in the name of the almighty dollar, Disney is watering down this beautiful resort; charging a premium price for a lesser experience. Please, reconsider your decision and bring back the orchestra to the Grand Floridian.

If you have never stayed at the GF, and have no intentions to, I implore you to think of some of your favorite Disney entertainment options: the Dapper Dans, the Citizens of Hollywood...how long till we lose those, too? If you love all of these entertainers as much as I do, please sign this petition!
