Disney - Bring back the Epcot Horizons Ride

The Issue

Located in EPCOT, the Horizons pavilion opened in 1983, exactly one year after EPCOT Center. It focused on the future and was a continuation of the family theme from the Carousel of Progress from the Magic Kingdoms Tomorrowland. One of the largest and most advanced attractions at EPCOT Center, Horizons looked back at what we envisioned the future would be throughout our history and then into the future through the 21st century. The ride focused on a familiar theme to fans of Walt Disney: If we can dream, we can do it.

Horizons was the only attraction in "Future World" to showcase all of Epcot's "Future World" elements: communication, community interaction, energy, transportation, anatomy, physiology, along with man's relationship to the sea, land, air, and space. Sadly, the attraction closed in 1999 but was beloved by thousands of fans. The fans of this beloved ride would like to see The Walt Disney Company bring this attraction back to life in the soon to be updated EPCOT overhaul. EPCOT needs this attraction to stay true to the mission of "The celebration of human achievement" and bring back the "Future World" elements of communication, community interaction, energy, transportation, anatomy, physiology, along with man's relationship to the sea, land, air, and space.

"Epcot Center is inspired by Walt Disney's goals. Here, human achievements are celebrated through imagination, the wonders of enterprise, and concepts of a future that promises new and exciting benefits for all. May Epcot Center entertain, inform and inspire. And, above all, may it instill a new sense of belief and pride in man's ability to shape a world that offers hope to people everywhere.— E.
