Demand Disney-Pixar Lose John Lasseter #LoseLasseter

John Lasseter is one of the co-founders of Pixar, and has worked as Disney-Pixar's CCO for many years. He has also worked as Principal Creative Advisor for Walt Disney Imagineering.

Despite his contributions, Lasseter does not belong at Disney-Pixar in any way. Both The Washington Post and The Hollywood Reporter have reported numerous sexual harassment claims, which include allegations of "grabbing, kissing, [and] making comments about physical attributes" towards employees of Disney-Pixar. You can also read additional coverage of these incidents in Variety, Vanity Fair, WSJ, and the LA Times. Since Lasseter's six-month "sabbatical" Disney-Pixar leadership is debating allowing him to return. We are firmly asking the company to never allow Lasseter to continue working with them.

If Lasseter is allowed to return, it is not only an insult to the current contributions of hundreds of employees that contribute more to the company's success, but also will demonstrate that such behavior will be tolerated by Disney-Pixar. Lasseter's return would be a direct dismissal of those he has hurt, and his continued presence would contribute to an unsafe environment of mistrust. His presence will also affect the company by causing many talented individuals who have been affected to seek taking their skills elsewhere, potentially rival companies.

All of this can be prevented by Disney-Pixar upper management agreeing not to allow Lasseter back into the company. Disney-Pixar is being presented with an exceptional opportunity to re-examine company culture, and make fundamental changes that will enable employees to do better work. As a company that prides itself on progress, it would be in line with Disney-Pixar values to not allow Lasseter's return. Preventing Lasseter from returning would be a very public victory for the animation community and demonstrate the values we expect from our leadership.

Please stand with us and tell Disney-Pixar you never want to see John Lasseter working with them again. Thank you!
